Orlando police said Curl was the victim of a violent home invasion last week.

Police said 55-year-old Ronald Davis posed as a community services officer to gain access to her home.

Davis allegedly broke into Curl’s home, knocked her down, and took off.

The family said she suffered devastating injuries in the attack and was hospitalized.

Due to her age, surgery was not an option, the family said.

Her family confirmed to Channel 9 that she was taken off life support on Tuesday.

“The circumstances of her passing are shocking and abrupt and not what we would have expected or chosen. But as our Lord has forgiven us, we are asked to forgive each other,” according to a statement from the family.

Davis remains at the Orange County Jail, where he’s being held without bond.

Her celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 16, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Orlando.
