How many pages will it take to read 20 million minutes by the end of April

ORLANDO, Fla. — Literacy week is here and Orange County Public Schools is challenging the communities districtwide to read 20 million minutes by the end of April.

The Let’s Read OCPS challenge invites everyone to turn the pages until April 30th. Students, staff, parents and even educational partners are welcome to participate.

Westpointe Elementary School will initiate the reading movement on Monday morning.

Students can choose new books at the book fair and log their reading minutes as they go.

The goal for the students is to encourage reading for enjoyment and to grow a lifelong bond with the art of literature.

Mayor Jerry Demings and Mayor Buddy Dyer have also agreed to participate in the challenge.
