DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The DAYTONA 500 is speeding toward us and Daytona Beach International Airport is keeping up with the demand for race fans traveling to the area for the big race.

Airlines have added additional nonstop flights from major metropolitan areas.
To name a few, places like New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Detroit’s Metro Airport (DTW), Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (DFW) and Washington, D.C. (DCA) are expecting high traffic during February 13th - 17th.

“Travelers flying to DAB for the Daytona 500 will be greeted with the roar of race cars from the iconic Daytona International Speedway, which is directly across the street from DAB, so race fans have the fastest track to the action,” said Joanne Magley, director of Air Service, Marketing & Customer Experience for Daytona Beach International Airport.

The Daytona 500 event is on Sunday, Feb. 16.
Traffic congestion will surround the airport before the start of the race. Departing passengers should allow extra time to get to the airport and avoid International Speedway Boulevard between Clyde Morris Boulevard and I-95.

Magley continues, “We are thrilled our legacy carriers added nonstop flights to four of our top markets for our destination’s largest event of the year, and with the addition of low-cost carriers Avelo and Breeze, travelers now have even more options to get here.”
