She has covered some of Central Florida’s biggest stories including the arrest of astronaut Lisa Nowak, the trial of Casey Anthony, and the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Shannon has reported on numerous hurricanes and wildfires across the state and once even reported in Florida’s snow. Shannon is recognized as one of Central Florida’s best investigative reporters, focusing on a diverse array of issues while consistently standing up for the little guy. Her dedication to uncovering the truth and advocating for those who may not have a voice has made her a trusted figure in the community. Through her impactful reporting, she continues to shed light on important stories that resonate with residents across the region. Because of Shannon’s commitment to ethical, accurate, and timely journalism. Her work has earned her two Emmy Awards, a DuPont-Columbia Award, a Goldsmith Award, and a Pulitzer nomination. A graduate of San Diego State University, Shannon also spent time at UCLA before moving to Florida. She proudly calls the City Beautiful her home.
