Paxton Boyd is a reporter for Channel 9 Eyewitness News, bringing more than a decade of broadcast journalism experience to Central Florida. A native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and raised in nearby Vine Grove, Boyd has worked in television markets across the country as a sports journalist, news reporter, national correspondent, and main news anchor. Most recently, he spent three years at WTVQ, the ABC affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky, where he anchored the station's 5, 6, and 11 p.m. weeknight newscasts. Before returning to his home state, Boyd served as a national correspondent in Washington, D.C., and reported in markets including Miami, West Palm Beach, Mobile, Alabama, Yuma, Arizona, and Hazard, Kentucky. During his career, he has covered major stories ranging from the Surfside condominium collapse in South Florida to the historic flooding in Eastern Kentucky. Boyd is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He is excited to join the Channel 9 team and bring his broad experience in both breaking news and storytelling to viewers across Central Florida.
