Chantelle Navarro joined the Eyewitness News team as a general assignment reporter in June 2021. Before coming to WFTV, she worked as a weekend anchor, producer and reporter for WTXL in Tallahassee, where she covered stories across the Big Bend, including severe weather and how the pandemic has changed the lives of residents there. Prior to that, Navarro spent time in the Snowbelt as a reporter for KCRG in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. There, she interviewed presidential candidates, reported on devastating tornadoes and investigated immigration raids. Before moving to Iowa, she worked as a Spanish language anchor, weekend anchor, producer and reporter for WTVO/WQRF in Rockford, Illinois. Navarro’s first job in news was working as a homicide watch reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times. She is originally from the Chicago area and has a broadcast journalism degree from Columbia College Chicago. Navarro is new to Orlando, but she lived near Tampa during her formative years. When she is not working, she loves running with her Cojack pup Tally, cheering on the Chicago Cubs or finding new places to kayak.
