Gun’s ‘accidental discharge’ sends adult and child to hospital in Seminole County

Deputies responded Wednesday night to an Apopka-area apartment complex.

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Sheriff’s officials say an adult and child were hurt Wednesday night when a gun accidentally went off.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. at an apartment complex off of Jordan Stuart Circle in Apopka.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said an “accidental discharge” led to a bullet striking the adult and grazing the child.

Officials told Channel 9 that both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While several deputies could be seen stringing crime scene tape and moving throughout the complex Wednesday night, SCSO told Channel 9 early Thursday that there was no danger to the public.
