Hot Monday in Central Florida as afternoon storm chances go up

ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida will see an increased chance of rain and storms on Monday.

After a drier weekend, our area will see a 50% chance of afternoon rain and storms.

Before any potential storms fire up, the average high temperature should reach around 91 degrees.

Hurricane Ian formed early Monday south of Cuba and is forecast to move into Florida by mid-week.

Ian will increase our rain chances for most of the week.

The entire state of Florida has been placed under a state of emergency as the massive storm’s patch continues its aim at the state.

As rain bands move through Florida until Wednesday, there will be a risk of tornados and flooding.
