Rollins takes down Tampa, advances to Super Regional

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Rollins College baseball team beat the host school Tampa 7-6 Sunday afternoon to advance to the Super Regional for the second straight season.

The Spartans are ranked No. 3 in the nation and Rollins beat them twice this weekend. Jeslyn Whitehead entered the game in the eighth inning and got the final six outs of the game to extend their season. He picked up his second save of the year and struck out a pair of batters Sunday.

Rollins will now host Barry in the South Super Regional in a best-of-three series starting on May 26 at 5:00. Game 2 is set for 2:00 at Alfond Stadium on May 27. Barry University, the No. 6 seed, defeated the No. 2 seed West Florida over the weekend.
