Woman, 36, dies in 3-car crash on State Road 408 in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 36-year-old Daytona Beach woman died in a three-car crash on State Road 408 in Orange County early Thursday morning.

Troopers said the crash happened near mile marker 7, not far from the Old Winter Garden Road exit, around 6:15 a.m.

Investigators said their preliminary investigation shows the woman, driving a 2005 Mazda 6, came to a sudden complete stop in the inside westbound lane. Troopers said the two vehicles behind her, a 2020 Ford F-150 and 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, couldn’t stop in time to avoid the collision.

Troopers said they are investigating whether the woman suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

Troopers said the drivers and passengers in the other vehicles involved were not injured.
