LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Walt Disney World held its annual holiday meal service for Thanksgiving.
Cast member volunteers, also called Disney VoluntEARs, took part in the 25-year-old tradition and helped give meals to those in need.
Chefs from the Disney culinary team prepared meals for residents at Harbor House of Central Florida, an organization that supports people who are suffering from domestic abuse.
This is not the only holiday community effort that Disney volunteers have participated in.
Volunteers will work with the Osceola Council on Aging to bring food to seniors who were displaced after Hurricane Ian.
They will also work with the Heart of Florida United Way to pack over 4,000 meal kits for residents of Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.
Allison Krall, president and CEO of Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, said the organization is grateful for the community’s support during the holiday season.
“We love seeing Disney VoluntEARS at the shelter,” Krall said. “And it’s especially uplifting to see the extra magic they bring to our residents on Thanksgiving evening.”
