Troopers: Palm Bay man, 70, killed in I-95 crash in Brevard County

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A crash shut down a stretch of Interstate 95 Tuesday morning in southern Brevard County.

Troopers said the crash, which happened around 8:25 a.m. near the overpass for North Wickham Road, involved two cars and a tractor-trailer.

The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed that the driver of one car, a 70-year-old Palm Bay man, died after being rushed to a hospital.

FHP shut down the northbound lanes of I-95 for more than two hours, which caused significant backups.

Troopers diverted traffic onto the Pineda Causeway during their crash investigation.

As of Tuesday afternoon, troopers remained at the crash site, but all lanes of I-95 were back open.
