Police: Man arrested in Texas in connection with Thanksgiving homicide in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — An arrest was made in connection with a homicide on Nov. 28, 2024, near the Emory Street Canal Wednesday.

On Thanksgiving morning, the Kissimmee Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting the discovery of a deceased male.

They initially treated it as a suspicious death, but it later evolved into a homicide investigation.

Through thorough investigating, KPD identified Romero Florez-Perez as the suspect.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on first-degree murder charges.

Florez-Perez was attempting to flee the county and was located in San Antonio, Texas, where he was taken into custody and awaiting extradition to the Osceola County Jail.
