OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Update:
An unattended backpack found inside a restaurant prompted an evacuation and law enforcement response Monday evening, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Employees at Piocos Chicken Restaurant, located at 5160 Boggy Creek Road, called 911 after discovering a backpack that had been left unattended inside the business.
The restaurant was evacuated while deputies investigated the situation. The Orange County Bomb Squad was called to assist and examine the backpack.
Authorities later determined there was nothing harmful inside the backpack. The building was searched and cleared.
According to the sheriff’s office, the owner of the backpack later returned to the restaurant and is being interviewed by agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and detectives with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
No injuries were reported.

A suspicious device was found Monday evening inside a restaurant, prompting an evacuation and road closures, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 6:15 p.m. to Piocos Chicken Restaurant, located at 5160 Boggy Creek Road, after the device was discovered inside the business.
The restaurant was safely evacuated, the sheriff’s office said.
As deputies investigate, Boggy Creek Road has been shut down in both directions in the area. Authorities said Narcoossee Road remains open.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
