‘March For Our Lives’ rally in Orlando joins national call for more gun control laws

ORLANDO, Fla. — People across the country marched Saturday for gun control.

The March For Our Lives organization is demanding changes in gun laws.

Organizers said there have been nearly 250 mass shootings so far this year in the U.S.

The group March For Our Lives Orlando said it wants U.S. leaders to do something about gun violence.

Locally, it is also connecting with the Boys & Girls Club’s “Day of H.O.P.E.”

This is the second March For Our Lives rally. The first was organized in 2018 by student protesters after the mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Now, thousands across the country and in Central Florida are back after the mass shootings in Uvalde, Texas and Buffalo, New York.

Nationally, there are marches in about 300 locations.

The U.S. House has passed bills that would raise the age limit to buy a semi-automatic weapon and establish red flag laws.
