Gov. DeSantis speaks in Volusia County about goals for special session

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE: Gov. DeSantis spoke Wednesday at a press conference in Daytona Beach Shores.

DeSantis spoke about his transportation goals for tolls, $100 million for beach erosion that was damaged in the recent hurricanes and tax relief.

Gov. Ron DeSantis will be making a stop in Volusia County Wednesday afternoon.

The governor is set to hold a news conference in Daytona Beach Shores at 12 p.m.

DeSantis’ administration did not reveal specifics about the announcement, but said the governor will be joined by the following:

  • Fla. House Speaker Paul Renner
  • U.S. Rep. Cory Mills
  • Sec. Shawn Hamilton, Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection
  • Dir. Kevin Guthrie, Florida Dept. of Emergency Mgmt.

The news conference will be held at the beach vehicle access point off Dunlawton Boulevard.
