The Sunglow Resort condo on South Atlantic Ave. was one of those structures declared safe to re-enter Monday. It’s one of about seven buildings that have had those unsafe notices removed since Friday.

Bob Brown rents a unit at the resort. He says he’s been out surveying the damage caused by both hurricanes.

“It’s devastating, absolutely devastating,” Brown said. “My wife was in tears.”

Daytona Beach Shores officials removed the unsafe notice from the resort Monday morning. It had to hire a private structural engineer to check it out and submit a report to the city for approval.

It’s one of eight hotels, condos and motels that people can now return to after the storms.
